Doing new things is hard.. But you gotta get out of that comfort zone!

Even when you become someone who is pretty consistently willing to put themselves out there and experiment, it doesn't necessarily get easier. In fact, sometimes, it can be even more difficult to try something new when you've already pushed yourself to make other significant changes. For example, a lot of new runners nowadays are using apps like Couchto5k to gradually get into the exercise. The app lets you start out walking more than you are running--but by the time you get to the end of the training, you're hopefully running the entire time. For a lot of people, jogging for several minutes without stopping is a huge feat in itself, it can take a while to get there. When you're a new runner, you pretty...

Is there such a thing as a Yoga Rut? Cat Bradley spills the beans.

Below is an excerpt from a student, Cat Bradley, who lives and breathes yoga but didn't realize what a yoga rut she was in until she stopped by our studio. "Just wanted to say that my hubs and I are so happy at your studio--it's really been incredible. The energy at Yogacare is amazing. The teachers are so passionate about the yoga. I take most frequently with Nicole, Robin, and Chris. I also took a class recently with Suda-May and I was blown away. I literally have sat after class with Robin for like a half hour talking about a posture. After almost ten years of doing this yoga--I didn't realize I was in a rut until I came to your studio. I was really just...

Three things you NEED to set a good foundation for summer

The sun is out, and our guns (biceps) and buns (glutes) aren't far behind! But are you set to have the best summer of your life? Do you have a plan to make this THE summer you achieve your goals? If not, you definitely should. We've put together a list of 3 things you'll need to make this season one for the record books -- a summer where you feel good about how you look, how you feel, and who you are. Step 1: You need a routine The biggest reason we see people fall off the fitness wagon is lack of a routine. When fitness time isn't sacred time, it's easy to say "...

Spring into summer with Full Circle Yoga

The warm weather has finally arrived! (Today's temperatures notwithstanding.) Hot on the heels of our last program that wrapped up in March, we're getting ready to launch the next generation of Full Circle, our lifestyle program that teaches you how to become the best version of yourself -- permanently.   Things can get pretty crazy in New York during the summer, and we all could use a little help keeping our cool. After completing Full Circle, our students not only lose up to 30lbs of body fat, but they also learn the deep breathing and meditation skills that help them cope with stressful situations and keep them centered when things get a little...

The most magnificent yoga studio in the world

This past weekend, YogaCare was invited to share Full Circle Yoga with residents and visitors of Lower Manhattan at The Oculus in the Westfield World Trade Center. The experience was amazing! More than 100 people practiced yoga with us and saw firsthand how our exclusive discipline of mind, body, and soul can have a transformative effect.    Completed in 2016, The Oculus serves as the transportation hub for New York's World Trade Center. At approximately 800,000 square feet and designed by internationally acclaimed architect Santiago Calatrava, the Oculus is the third largest transportation center in New York City -- and this weekend, it was the largest, most magnificent yoga studio in the world! Full Circle Gen 3 Students Speak Up

The first half of our latest iteration of Full Circle is in the books, and our students aren't keeping their opinions to themselves. This generation of 30 students has participants who are brand new to Bikram yoga, as well as a few who are familiar with the program. (One or two were original participants in our Pilot program last spring!) We caught up with a few of them before this generation of Full Circle started (Day Zero), and we'll be with them along the way to see their progress as the program continues. Check it out below and then click through to see what this is all about! [embed]https://vimeo.com/201906626[/embed]   ...

Student Stories: Rebuilding Eloise

This is an excerpt from a Full Circle student in a story series we call "Rebuilding." I recently read a quote by Michelangelo: "I am still learning." That's what Full Circle means to me. I've found that I am making better use of time. I am making fewer mistakes and more sensible decisions in my daily life. I have more patience. And when I feel myself going over the edge, I can bring myself back to sanity and laugh. I also notice that I feel so much calmer and would just rather listen and observe the people and the world around me. It's like I can actually hear better -- or maybe I'm just paying better attention. Whatever is going, on I am loving the shift in my life. Full Circle Pulse | Rebuilding Mia | YogaCare

Student Stories: Rebuilding Mia

This is an excerpt from a Full Circle student in a story series we call "Rebuilding." I am a 61-year-old divorced mother who works full-time in a demanding non-profit environment. I have three kids, two of whom have autism and one of whom has emotional challenges as a result of living in an orphanage early in her life. When I first considered the possibility of joining the Full Circle group, I came up with every possible reason to believe and argue that it was simply "impossible". I was about to lose my job and "have no money” I had two special needs young adults at home who "needed" me every -- or at least most -- evenings I couldn't possibly join the morning group and wake up...

Student Stories: Rebuilding Carrie

This is an excerpt from a Full Circle student in a story series we call "Rebuilding." I was introduced to YogaCare when my office moved downtown. I was looking for a place to continue my love for Bikram yoga. What initially attracted me to the Full Circle program was the chance to learn more about meditation and the hope that I might be able to finally remove sugar from my daily diet. Some background: I am a true sugar addict. I was raised on sugar and I knew it was responsible for bringing down my energy levels as well as a host of other harmful things. 3 weeks into Full Circle, and I started to feel an incredible energy that shocked me. I was sleeping less, but getting a lot more accomplished with less downtime. It's hard...
