Is there such a thing as a Yoga Rut? Cat Bradley spills the beans.

Below is an excerpt from a student, Cat Bradley, who lives and breathes yoga but didn’t realize what a yoga rut she was in until she stopped by our studio.

“Just wanted to say that my hubs and I are so happy at your studio–it’s really been incredible. The energy at Yogacare is amazing. The teachers are so passionate about the yoga. I take most frequently with Nicole, Robin, and Chris. I also took a class recently with Suda-May and I was blown away. I literally have sat after class with Robin for like a half hour talking about a posture. After almost ten years of doing this yoga–I didn’t realize I was in a rut until I came to your studio.

I was really just going through the motions for like a year or two there. Having the energy now of your studio and the teachers has completely changed my practice. I am reading about postures in my spare time again. I’ve even been backing off of things, not going as deep as I normally would to get back to the basics and correct bad habits I have accumulated over the years. Robin has said to me more than once, “Start Over!” Meaning, forget all the history I have with the posture and just act like it’s my first class. I am learning to take my ego out of it and to just be present in each class I get to take–each posture. It’s really been amazing. It’s also BLOWN my mind to take class with my hubs and see how much he is constantly growing. That wasn’t really happening at our old studio. Now every time we take class together I’ll catch myself peeping him in the mirror and going, “since when can you do that?!” Really cool.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that you and your team are doing an incredible job–we love you guys!”

— Thank you for your kind words and words of inspiration, we love you too Cat! Hugs!. It takes a lot of courage to break down the framework and design we are s often use to in this day and age. With our little routines sometimes we don’t realize how we are stopping ourselves from achieving more. A little goes a long way. Always be humble and listen. As Owner of YogaCare, Ulises says – walk about this earth with humble magnificence.
