HOT YOGA (Classic 26)

We are the only studio offering original Hot yoga in downtown New York City. At our Financial District location, you can take your body to the healthiest state possible by integrating the practice of yoga into your life. Work every muscle, tendon, ligament, joint and internal organ in the entire body in the original 90 minute Hot Yoga class in a controlled, heated room.

The Bikram series consists of 26 Hatha Yoga postures and 2 Pranayama breathings. All classes are taught in the traditional 90 minutes. With a regular practice, these postures can help to heal old injuries and diseases and also prevent them in the future*.

These exercises are accessible to anyone with any level of fitness, condition or flexibility.

STUDIO SCHEDULE

DHARMA YOGA

This is the beginning level of the Dharma Yoga series. Students will start by warming up the body to bring flexibility to all muscles and joints and wake up the nervous system. A gentle, yet powerful series of balancing, stretching, back bending, twisting and mild inverted postures follow. The physical posture practice (Asana) tones and invigorates the body and mind, leading to enhanced flexibility, strength, balance and concentration. Breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditative techniques regulate the heartbeat, de-stress the nervous system and calm the mind. This practice ends with Deep Relaxation, breathing exercises and concentration/meditation to remove impurities and bring a sense of well-being to the body and radiant peace to the mind.

We offer 2 durations:

60 mins (Dharma 60 Non-hot)

45 mins (Dharma 45 Non-hot)

These exercises are accessible to anyone with any level of fitness, condition or flexibility.

STUDIO SCHEDULE

HOW TO PREPARE BEFORE YOUR FIRST CLASS (HOT or DHARMA)?

  • Drink lots of water before class (and after!)
  • Don’t eat 2 hours before
  • First-timers – Come 20 mins before your first class to get settled and shown around the space. Signing up online makes things faster at the desk but we understand if you could not sign up beforehand, you can sign a waiver at the front desk. We are a shoeless facility, you can leave shoes on the shoe rack.
  • We rent towels $2, mats $4 and sell water $3 so come empty-handed if you wish!
  • ETIQUETTE IN THE YOGA ROOM

      DHARMA YOGA ETIQUETTE

    • No food including chewing gum.
    • We are a small boutique studio with not too many staff, we require students to come at least 10 mins before class as we lock the doors on the dot of class start time
    • Please do not leave before the class ends, this highly interrupts the flow of the class, we ask that you respect this.
    • Never feel like you have to do all the postures, the set up is more important. Try whatever variation feels right for you that day.
    • Ask the teacher any questions or tips after class!
      HOT CLASS ETIQUETTE

    • Always make sure you can see yourself in the mirror, stagger yourself so the person behind can see themselves in the mirror as well
    • Only water in the room, no coconut water, no colored sports drinks (If it spills, the mess is not fun to clean!)
    • No bags, wallets, phones / Apple watches or anything else in the room (Come on guys, that’s why we are doing yoga right?)
    • Once in the room, please respect the yoga classroom etiquette by being silent and not talking
    • Please do not leave the room before the class ends with the exception of pregnant women and kids younger than 12 years old, feel free to take a knee, sit down or lie down if needed!
    • PUNCTUALITY FOR HOT YOGA – if you are late, for your safety and for the other students you will not be encouraged to enter the room after the 1st set of the Paranayama breathing, 5 mins after class begins
